چکیده

In this article the author constructs an eeective diierence scheme for the solution of coupled dynamic electroelasticity problems for nite dimensional solids. Such a construction is based on the energy conservation law for the electromechanical system and the deenition of generalised solutions for the corresponding diierential problem. Results of computational experiments are presented for hollow piezoceramic cylinders in the two-dimensional case.

Domain Wall and Periodic Solutions of Coupled φ 4 Models in an External Field

Coupled double well (φ) one-dimensional potentials abound in both condensed matter physics and field theory. Here we provide an exhaustive set of exact periodic solutions of a coupled φ model in an external field in terms of elliptic functions (domain wall arrays) and obtain single domain wall solutions in specific limits. We also calculate the energy and interaction between solitons for variou...

GENERAL SOLUTION OF ELASTICITY PROBLEMS IN TWO DIMENSIONAL POLAR COORDINATES USING MELLIN TRANSFORM

Abstract In this work, the Mellin transform method was used to obtain solutions for the stress field components in two dimensional (2D) elasticity problems in terms of plane polar coordinates. the Mellin transformation was applied to the biharmonic stress compatibility equation expressed in terms of the Airy stress potential function, and the boundary value problem transformed to an algebraic  ...

On Approximate Stationary Radial Solutions for a Class of Boundary Value Problems Arising in Epitaxial Growth Theory

In this paper, we consider a non-self-adjoint, singular, nonlinear fourth order boundary value problem which arises in the theory of epitaxial growth. It is possible to reduce the fourth order equation to a singular boundary value problem of second order given by w''-1/r w'=w^2/(2r^2 )+1/2 λ r^2. The problem depends on the parameter λ and admits multiple solutions. Therefore, it is difficult to...

Non-linear stochastic inversion of 2D gravity data using evolution strategy (ES)

In the current work, a 2D non-linear inverse problem of gravity data is solved using the evolution strategies (ES) to find the thickness of a sedimentary layer in a deep-water situation where a thick sedimentary layer usually exists. Such problems are widely encountered in the early stages of petroleum explorations where potential field data are used to find an initial estimate of the basin geo...

On string field theory for C ≤ 1

I present a short review of our results with S.Kharchev, A.Mironov, A.Morozov and A.Zabrodin on Generalized Kontsevich model which in a sense can be interpreted as unifying " string field theory " for c < 1 minimal series coupled to 2d gravity. The problem of interpolation between different models is discussed. It is found that this problem is closely connected with " deformations " within the ...
